SALTA AND JUJUY BY CLOUD TRAIN

Día 1:Regular transfer from Salta airport to the hotel in the city centre. Accommodation in SALTA.

Día 2: Meet at the railway station at 7:00 am to board the bus to San Antonio de los Cobres. We offer a unique and special trip that combines two sections: National Route 51, with photo stops at scenic spots that seem ‘frozen in time,’ and then the magical experience of the TRAIN TO THE CLOUDS, which reveals itself in all its splendour when it reaches the imposing viaduct at the foot of the Andes Mountains. We combine not only landscapes and sensations, but also stories and experiences that allow us to relive the epic railway construction in 1920, initiated by engineer Richard Fontain Maury, the driving force behind the project, as well as to discover places frozen in time in harmonious coexistence with the mountains. Día 3:Departure from Salta in the morning, via Route 9/34 to the picturesque village of Purmamarca, with its Cerro Siete Colores, the Church and the Craft Market in the square. After touring the town, climb the Cuesta de Lipán until you reach the imposing Salinas Grandes, an incredible place, a white desert 4,000 metres above sea level. It is one of the most beautiful white expanses in Argentina with sporadic turquoise tones and almost perfect reflections. There you can observe the process of extracting table salt. Día 4: Departure in the morning through the Lerma Valley, passing through picturesque towns and gorges such as Cerrillos, La Merced, Ampascachi, La Viña, where there is a picturesque establishment called Posta de la Cabra, with a peaceful atmosphere accompanied by a mountainous landscape and colourful trees. Continuing on to Alemania, the prelude to the Calchaquí Valleys, the colours multiply in all their nuances along the route of this beautiful gorge. On the edge of the road that runs alongside the Las Conchas River, wind erosion has created a succession of natural wonders such as the Devil's Throat, the Amphitheatre, the gigantic fissure in the hill that forms a spectacular rock formation; Los Castillos, and other striking figures that depend on the imagination and the different times of day when the sun's rays illuminate the mountains of the magical gorge. Continuing on, we climb to the junction of the Santa María and Calchaquí valleys with the Quebrada de Las Conchas, overlooking the Tres Cruces and Morales hills. With this mountainous backdrop, at the foot of the San Isidro hill, flanked by rivers and within Cafayate, lies the belt of vineyards that give rise to its famous wines, including Torrontés.
